The Rockland Vein Center provides diagnosis and treatment options – often without surgery – for patients with varicose veins and "spider veins."
Conservative Treatment These are not your grandmother's compression stockings. Advances in technology now allow for style as well as function. Compression stockings may be
knee-high, thigh-high in length or a panty hose type stocking and
can help alleviate the swelling and pain associated with varicose
veins. Compression stockings will not prevent the formation of
varicose veins, but will help relieve symptoms caused by these
veins.

Sclerotherapy is ideal for the treatment
of small to medium size varicose veins.
It is extremely safe, relatively painless, and very effective. It involves the virtually painless injection
of small amounts of a sclerosing solution
into the vein which will cause the veins
to seal. These veins will then eventually
shrink and gradually disappear, so you'll
forget they were ever there. We can even
find and treat hidden veins using The Veinlite
Transilluminator™ to prevent them
from becoming visible in the future.

VNUS ClosureFAST® allows for less postoperative pain and bruising than EVLT (laser therapy).
VNUS ClosureFAST® is a minimally invasive, radiofrequency treatment
for common varicose veins and associated
symptoms such as pain and swelling. The Doctors at The Rockland Vein Center introduced the VNUS ClosureFAST
procedure to the Hudson Valley and are
Rockland's most experienced physicians
with this technology.
There are many benefits to theVNUS ClosureFAST® Procedure over other treatment modalities, such as:
• Your procedure can be performed in our comfortable office setting
under a local anesthetic.
• The procedure is covered under most insurance plans.
• You will experience relief of symptoms as this procedure works by closing the diseased vein using radiofrequency energy. Once a healthy vein takes over, your symptoms should improve noticeably.
• The ClosureFAST procedure is more convenient than stripping as you will be in and out of same day surgery and may require only local anesthesia or regional anesthesia to numb the area during treatment.
• The recovery time is much shorter with the ClosureFAST procedure and you should be able to resume your normal activities within 1 to 2 days.
• Most patients report minimal to no scarring, bruising or swelling following ClosureFAST procedure for an excellent cosmetic result.
Ambulatory Micro-Phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure which entails micro-extraction to remove larger varicose veins that are close to the surface of the skin through very tiny micro-incisions. This treatment leaves little or no scarring. This procedure is often done in conjunction with the ClosureFAST procedure and can also be done in the office. The incisions are so small that once healed they are rarely visible. Patients can return to normal activities, including work, the next day and walking is encouraged. |
